British Limb Reconstruction Society meeting comes to Leeds

The British Limb Reconstruction Society Annual Meeting was held in Leeds for the first time on 23-24 March at the Hotel Metropole.

Hosted by Mr Patrick Foster, one of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals’ consultant orthopaedic surgeons, it was the largest ever meeting for this society with over 180 delegates and 40 representatives from industry.

International speakers included Dr Dmitry Popkov from the Ilizarov Institute in Kurgan, Russia, Dr Stephen Quinnan from the University of Miami Hospital, USA, Mr Tim Nunn, Ethiopia, and our very own Professor Giannoudis.

There was a high quality scientific content with many papers and presentations from the Leeds Limb Reconstruction Unit, one of which was awarded best free paper.

The meeting was very successful and also provided a platform for the Leeds Major Trauma Centre, Leeds Children’s Hospital and Leeds Limb Reconstruction Unit to showcase the care provided as one of the leaders in this field. Day One were grateful to be invited along to have a stand to speak with delegates about the work we carry out.
