What We Offer
Need help now? The Day One team is on hand to support patients at any of the five trauma units making up the West Yorkshire Trauma Network. Find about the services we offer and how we can help you and your family.
Patients and their families have the opportunity to benefit from the Day One peer support programme – a special group of trauma survivors who have the added benefit of shared experience.
We’re always looking for volunteers to help as part of our peer support programme, at events or on the wards.
Day One has supported over 400 patients so far. Read some of the inspirational stories of patients at the Leeds Major Trauma Centre.
Leeds Major Trauma Centre
Leeds Major Trauma Centre at Leeds General Infirmary treats an average of 1,500 patients per year. Working in partnership with NHS medical teams, Day One has supported patients and their families since the service was established in 2014 by Professor Giannoudis and a group of former patients.
Day One Major Trauma Support is delivered by Leeds Cares which means it is charitably funded and relies entirely on donations from fundraisers and supporters to keep going. It’s easy to donate to Day One, either through a one-off or regular donation, or via our fundraising events.
