For patients who have been rushed into hospital following a traumatic experience, it can be a very stressful and anxious time.
The Major Trauma Clinical Psychology Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust would ordinarily be on hand to provide support to patients face to face on the wards but have had to adapt their approach due to Coronavirus.
Thanks to your donations, we have funded three mobile phones for the service, so that they can continue to provide vital support to patients over the phone.
Louise Johnson, Senior Clinical Psychologist on the Major Trauma Ward said, “The phones have been so reassuring for patients who don’t have access to a mobile phone whilst on the ward and we can now ensure that all patients have access to remote support. We can’t thank Leeds Cares enough for providing the phones which are helping us continue to support patient’s emotional wellbeing during this difficult time.”
