“Although the last 18 months have been emotional and challenging, I’ve managed to achieve whatever I’ve set my mind to. The future’s looking really bright.”
Horses had always been Hayley Anderson-Richardson’s passion, in November 2012 she went to meet and ride a new horse she was planning on adding to the family. Unexpectedly, the horse wasn’t happy about being mounted and bucked until it had thrown Hayley to the ground.
She was taken to Harrogate Hospital and told her pelvis was broken in 4 places. Eventually, after being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary it was discovered that Hayley had actually completely shattered her pelvis and it had to be plated.
About 4 weeks later she left hospital in a wheelchair, determined not to remain immobile or rely on crutches.
