How You’ve Helped

HOW YOUR DONATIONS HELP PATIENTS

Donations funded Kindle Fires which are kept as part of a library system to loan out to patients to alleviate boredom on the ward. They also help to keep patients in touch with friends and family.

Emergency funding for travel costs and accommodation is something provided regularly.
No one ever plans to end up on the Major Trauma Ward and occasionally families of patients are unable to afford the costs associated with visiting.

Sometimes patient equipment cannot be provided by the NHS and thanks to fundraising and
donations we are able to purchase and hire it when needed.

Once again to alleviate boredom, we have been able to provide patients with puzzle books,
adult colouring books, pencils and games.

HOW YOUR DONATIONS SUPPORT THE MAJOR TRAUMA WARD

When the Leeds Trauma Ward was located on L22 there were no facilities for televisions, since the ward has moved this has changed, so Day One have provided 17 televisions to help distract and entertain patients during their stay.

On the new trauma ward there are patient and relative rooms, these need to be comfortable spaces and Day One is committed to working with the ward to make this happen- stay tuned!
